Cefic’s Long Range Research Initiative (LRI) has developed numerous quality-assured databases and key prediction tools. As part of LRI’s 20 years anniversary, this online toolbox has been revamped.
The toolbox provides European and national regulatory agencies, industry and academia with a selection of easy-to-use tools for risk assessment and toxicity testing of chemicals.
The tools can be used in preparation of regulatory dossiers such as REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) and GHS (Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals), as well as for research and development purposes.
The tools are freely available to all and were developed under three categories: Human Health Database, Human Health Models, and Environmental Models.
The use of these tools should allow users to save time by avoiding unnecessary lower tier animal testing.
The toolbox is available at: http://cefic-lri.org/lri-toolbox/
