Addressing global challenges – our three priorities

The LRI programme advances the scientific assessment of chemicals’ safety and improves our understanding of the potential health and environmental risks by fostering innovative research in three priority areas.

The first, Innovating Chemical Testing concentrates on reducing chemical testing costs, time and animal use, as well as funding the development of better data interpretation and data attainment for regulatory requirements.

The second priority area is devoted to funding more precise research on everyday exposure to chemicals and filling current data gaps for chemicals in commerce.

And finally, the third priority is to advance chemical safety assessment, and to increase consumer confidence and support of innovation.
Together, these three interlinked priorities are key for addressing global challenges.
