Description

Making reliable estimates of the amounts of chemicals deposited on the skin and clothing in the workplace is essential in evaluating any health risks. It also helps in assessing the effectiveness of protective equipment.
There is a lack of detailed information in this area. This study will compile published information on skin exposure within industry, taking into account factors such as handling procedures, protective clothing, measurement methods and chemical properties. Information gaps and areas for future work will be identified to help develop an informed approach to the monitoring, control and regulation of skin exposure in industry.
