Description

This research project aims to investigate the current understanding of the risk of dermal uptake of MNPs. Information on the impact of particle size, shape (spherical, needle, irregular, fibre), polymer composition, hydrophobicity, charge, surface chemistry and aging will be investigated to allow a comprehensive understanding of the risks posed by dermal exposure to MNPs. The information will be collated on dermal uptake assessment of MNPs with knowledge gained in other relevant research areas such as dermal uptake of NMs, and weathering of MNPs in the environment to provide a holistic understanding of the dermal uptake mechanisms relevant for MNPs.

Timeline: December 2024 > June 2025
