2024 marks the 25th anniversary of ICCA’s Long-Range Research Initiative programme.
For the past 25 years, Cefic has implemented this initiative to improve our understanding of potential health and environmental risks, while also driving advanced approaches for the scientific assessment of chemical safety.
True to its name, LRI has been at the forefront of scientific excellence, conducting pioneering research to address concerns and improve chemical safety and sustainability.
To mark this occasion, we have planned an inspiring programme to discuss the future of research and innovation in the coming years with a keynote speech from Prof. Dr. Ellen Fritsche, Director of the Swiss Centre for Applied Human Toxicology (SCAHT) & 2006 LRI Innovative Science Awardee and a panel discussion:
Mapping the Future: Innovative and Sustainable Approaches to Chemical Safety Assessments
- Björn Hidding, Senior Specialist for Chemical Strategy for Sustainability, BASF
- Sofie Nørager, Deputy Head of Unit, Directorate General for Research and Innovation, European Commission
- Ana Fernandez Agudo, M.S., Risk Assessment Unit, National Environmental Health Center, Instituto de Salud Carlos III, Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación
