Webinar: New in vitro and in vivo TK databases for mammals and an on-line platform

Start date: 13 May. 2021

End date: 13 May. 2021

This event will take place on 13 May 2021, from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm CEST and it is part of a series of webinars coordinated by the Health and Environmental Sciences Institute (HESI) on the advancement of toxicokinetics and bioaccumulation science to aid ecological and human health risk assessment.

The first three webinars in this series will focus on recent and ongoing work performed by ARC Arnot Research and Consulting and the QSAR Research Unit in Environmental Chemistry at the University of Insubria. Funding support for these projects was provided by the European Chemistry Industry Council Long-Range Research Initiative (CEFIC-LRI), the American Chemistry Council Long-Range Research Initiative (ACC-LRI), and the European Commission Joint Research Centre (EC JRC).

These webinars will summarize recent scientific advancements in the development of (Webinar #1, April 8th) the Bioaccumulation Assessment Tool (BAT Ver.2.0) with a focus on applications for mammals, (Webinar #2, May 13th) large, critically evaluated in vitro and in vivo toxicokinetics (TK) databases for mammals, and (Webinar #3, June 24th) Quantitative Structure-Activity Relationships (QSARs) for predicting key TK parameters (i.e., biotransformation rates) that can be applied in various contexts to aid ecological and human health evaluations, e.g. bioaccumulation in air-breathing organisms.

WEBINAR #2: New in vitro and in vivo TK databases for mammals and an on-line platform will cover:

• Overview of new critically evaluated in vitro and in vivo TK databases

• Overview of new searchable on-line platform of these TK databases in EAS-E Suite
