Joint efforts of the industry to progress research on microplastics to be presented at SETAC in Helsinki

There are still many knowledge gaps around the scientific understanding of the impacts of microplastics on aquatic and terrestrial populations and ecosystems. ICCA, Cefic-LRI and ECETOC work together to improve knowledge and data quality on these topics. Their common initiatives will be presented on a poster during the SETAC Europe 29^th Annual Meeting, which will take place in Helsinki from May 26 to 30.

These research activities aim at improving the mechanistical understanding of exposure and effects associated with exposure to microplastic particles, in order to support the development of a reliable environmental risk assessment framework.
